Places of interest in Saméon

The commune boasts a fine historical heritage, with several small chapels and oratories (ND de La Treille oratory, St Roch oratory, Calvaire oratory) nestling in the bends of the streets. They bear witness to the strong religious devotion that prevailed in the Middle Ages. The town was also a stopover for pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostela.

Also worth seeing is the 12th-century Church of St Martin, which underwent various restorations in the 19th century.

If you're a fan of bucolic activities, drop in at the Hery educational farm (rue d'Aix, Saméon). In a rural setting that's sure to delight young and old alike, you'll discover how cows are milked, the milk circuit, and how butter is made and tasted.
